I am Benedetta Boroli, born in Novara even though I have lived in Milan for several years. In 2016 I launched my brand, with a line of elegant shoes that pay particular attention to the study of the typical lines and materials of Made in Italy. Precious materials mixed with technical ones are the details that best represent my collections.
When was your passion for shoes born?
My passion for shoes was born since I was little, in high school I loved to design shoes and my inspiration has always been my grandmother’s “infinite” collection of shoes, including the “Mouse” model by Marc Jacobs. I fell in love with it immediately. For this reason, after several work experiences in completely different fields, I decided to follow my passion and I started building my brand.
What are your sources of inspiration? Your muse?
I take inspiration by looking at everything around me, observing everything in detail; surely then, living in a city like Milan, where one is captured by continuous emotions, it is very easy to find inspiration. The design and dynamism of this constantly evolving city, with that mix of modern buildings such as City Life and period houses, combined with my passion for fashion, have certainly contributed to the creation of my footwear, especially my iconic shoes : Sforza and Cadorna, which in fact fully represent a mix of innovation, technicality and elegance.
3 adjectives to define your creations
Gritty, sophisticated and avant-garde.
What story do you want to tell with your creations?
My models are inspired by a dynamic woman who loves to wear a shoe with an elegant and refined design without neglecting comfort. It is to these types of customers that I am inspired to create my collections and to whom my brand is aimed. My iconic models, for example, fully respect my desire, which is dynamism, innovation and style accompanied by comfort and wearability. Who says you can’t be elegant, comfortable and stylish at the same time? With my creations this is exactly what I would like to convey. I pay particular attention to the innovative wedge heel with a geometric design, included in the SS20 collection and now present in the FW20, also in the 90MM version. The use of the wedge was chosen to give comfort and daily practicality, while the small heel gives the shoe a modern twist and a new look in a contemporary key. All my shoe lines boast an avant-garde design, materials and colors that reflect my two souls: a mix of classic refinement and sophisticated innovation.
The capsule model you prefer.
In the new AW20 collection I thought of a capsule of boots and ankle boots in crocodile print. The collection of boots is available with two variants of heel height, the 65MM wedge heel version and also the higher 90MM version, the ankle boots instead, with 65MM wedge heel.
Where do you produce your creations?
After having had some experiences with different Italian shoe districts, I decided to produce my collections in the Marche one.
New projects or ideas you are working on?
There is no lack of ideas and I am working on several innovative projects that I hope to realize soon, but certainly a concept that is very close to my heart is that of sustainability. In fact, from the SS20 season I have created a new packaging for my products; for the rest there are numerous innovative projects that I am working on and that I hope to complete soon.
