How was your passion for fashion born?
From the continuous search for balances and behavioral codes that, translated from their aesthetics, allowed me to communicate what surrounds me and affects me every day, from the need to want to dialogue daily with the contemporary.
What do you like most about your job?
Transforming and compressing by hand through rules to be broken, the ephemeral, a perception, into something tangible and of specific weight.
How do you define the aesthetics of your collections?
Sensual. Timeless. Personal. Aggressive Decò.
Why did you choose to create shoes? And how did you come up with the idea for MATTEOMARS?
The passion for architecture, circumventing the rigid rules that characterize it to pursue its own goal. Women’s footwear contains the basic principles aimed at enhancing the physicality of a woman and supporting her moods and her Status. MatteoMars for me was the need to dialogue directly with the female world after 20 years of still active collaborations, with important international fashion brands.

The first shoes you designed?
The first model designed for MatteoMars was the Naked Ala in 2012, the Swoosh that characterizes them has been Carry Over for 8 years.
New projects or ideas you are working on?
A new radical approach in the selection and reworking of Specific Seasonal Items that allow a more transversal and targeted communication of the MatteoMars Universe. So a chain of new products also through Co-Branding that stand side by side without antagonism with DNA models such as the Naked Ala. The way to approach the offer today must be Vertical.
What will your next collection be like?
Vertical and barrier-free. Sensual and light. Soon we will want to show ourselves without limitations and with enough energy to explode.
