VERONICA GAUTSCHI PRESENTS HER BRAND:
How was your passion for fashion born?
The passion for creation comes from the family and passes between painting, music and art in all its creative forms. Since I was a child, I created clothes and accessories for my dolls with my mother’s fabric scraps and simple handicrafts. Growing up, I cultivated this passion by studying design and I believe I have combined in my brand the rigor and geometric shapes typical of Swiss design, with the elegant and timeless style of my Italian origins.
How would you define your style?
A linear, ethereal and timeless style.
What is your philosophy?
Sustainable, high quality and timeless fashion. I believe that fashion is much more than just objects, but a source of inspiration for people and a positive outlook towards the future.
What are your main references and inspirations?
Yves Saint Laurent among all, but also the timeless Giorgio Armani and the contemporary JilSander.
When you work on a project, where do you start from?
I start from myself. I believe that when we create something that we ourselves would like to wear, then the creation becomes concrete. Then I leave it to my clients and the people who follow me to judge if that creation is shareable. Only then does it become part of the project.
How did you approach the lockdown on a creative level?
Exploring new creative avenues and planning the future of the brand outside of time and seasons. In fact, at the end of the lockdown we decided not to follow the seasons anymore, but to work on timeless collections and letting ourselves be inspired by the present moment.
What are you working on at the moment?
We are increasingly developing the brand’s commitment to causes that are very close to our hearts. Among all, climate change and the terrible problem of deforestation. We actively support OneTreePlanted, a non-profit association that is committed to planting new trees in the most deforested areas on the planet. A personal commitment, which has become the foundation of the brand.
What is the element that determines the success of a brand?
Passion, perseverance and resilience. Knowing how to adapt, transform and constantly reinvent yourself without ever losing your identity.
